Work Package 8

- Incorporation into Models -

This WP aimed at generating guidelines for manipulating intestinal microbial landscapes based on 3D’omic data, and to facilitate incorporation of 3D’omic data into phenotypic assessment and genetic evaluation models.

BGU led the design and writing of a manuscript on strategies to efficiently modulate microbial communities through understanding the ecological interactions among bacteria and the interplay with the host. The text emphasised the novel knowledge generated by multi-omic, and specially, 3D’omic approaches.

BIO, NORSVIN, and AVI led the preparation of a manuscript targeting the broad livestock breeding sector on the implementation of 3D’omics technology, knowledge and data within current breeding and feeding strategies and highlight the potential for novel strategies. The manuscript contains a general introduction of the 3D’omics technology, followed by general considerations as well as system-specific factors.

Work Package 8 had a total duration of 21 months and concluded in December 2025.

The outcomes of Work Package are two Open Access manuscripts (see publications).
