Using the micro-sections prepared in WP3, we developed the molecular technologies required to generate (meta)genomics, (meta)transcriptomic and metabolomic data from spatially referenced micro-sections. Specifically, we developed protocols for nucleic acid and metabolite data generation for microsections and novel FISHbased techniques. 

Work Package 4 had a total duration of 41 months and was concluded in August 2025.

Milestone 3 of the project has been achieved in August 2025: "Sample processing methods for generating 3D’omics data are ready". The outcome of this Work Package are 3 method reports, which were shared within the consortium and with the EC.
